GLASGOW FIELD OFFICE
CRESTED WHEATGRASS STUDY AND FORB SEEDING, 2023
VALLEY COUNTY, MONTANA
STATEMENT OF WORK
I. Introduction and Background
The BLM-Glasgow Field Office is implementing habitat restoration projects to benefit Greater sage-grouse areas in North Valley County. Various management strategies have been used to date across the proposed unit, including prescribed fire, herbicide treatments, and initial native seed mixes. The native seed mixes have not grown to date. The BLM is implementing another native forb spike seeding.
In the fall of 2023, seed the project area with a native seed mix on a study site and a forb “spike” seed mix, via a no till drill, similar to a John Deere no till drill model 1560. The seed will be provided by BLM.
II. Project Locations
The project site is approximately 235 acres and is in T30N, R39E Section 28 S2 and Section 33 NW4. The native seeding will be in a 120-acre research plot, while the forb seeding will be located directly north of the research plot. Both sites are accessed from the same parking area.
III. Objectives
The object of this contract is to no-till drill seed approximately 235 acres of BLM managed public land. The BLM will work with the awardee to determine the appropriate time to seed the project area. The BLM will provide the seed mixture.
IV. Statement of Work
The BLM-Glasgow Field Office contracting officer will work with the awardee to determine the appropriate time to seed the project area. The estimated timeframe to implement the seeding would occur between October 1st - 31st, 2023. The BLM will provide the contractor with seed.
A. Basic field supplies provided by BLM

B. The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals, except those indicated as government-furnished, to perform the tasks to complete all objectives detailed in the Statement of Work section.
V. Acceptance
Payment will be paid upon completion of project.
VI. Deliverables
A. The deliverable for this project is the complete seeding of the project area.
VII. Period of Performance
A. Implementation of the seeding shall be between October 1st and October 31st , 2023. The COR will contact the awardee and advise when to implement the seeding.
