STATEMENT OF WORK
Replace Quarters 6 Carport Construction Project (332311)
Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee NWR
1. General:
1.1 Replace carport at Quarters 6 at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee NWR, 10248 Lee
Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33473-4797.
1.2 Purpose/End Application:
The purpose of the project is to replace the carport at a residence on the refuge. Quarters are currently occupied by an employee and their family. The existing carport is beyond its serviceable lifespan.
1.3 Contractor Qualifications:
The Contractor should have experience building carports. The existing carport is made from a mix of wood and metal. The contractor should have a lot of experience working with wood and metal to provide a carport that is of adequate quality to protect the cars underneath from hazards such as weather, debris, etc. Carport design and construction should match that of the carports at the two adjacent quarters. A powerline runs from a pole to the house. It crosses a corner of the carport and may need to be relocated to safely perform the work.
Contractor is responsible for removing all demolition waste and construction debris.
1.4 Other: Work will require replacement of the existing carport without damaging the surrounding driveway or home. New carport will match existing carports at adjacent houses and comply with all applicable building codes and hurricane ratings.
2. Place of Performance and Period of Performance:
2.1 Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee NWR
10248 Lee Road Boynton Beach, FL 33473-4797
Worked will be performed at Quarters 6, located about half mile west of Headquarters.
2.2 Work should be completed by March 31, 2023. The quarters are currently occupied by residents who will remain while the work is being performed. Precautions must be taken by the contractor to minimize disturbance to residents.
2.3 Normal duty hours Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In the event of emergencies, Contractor shall provide contact information.
2.4 Non-duty hours include weeknights, weekends, and Government holidays (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King JR’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).
3. Scope
3.1 Contractor shall provide all materials and labor required to replace the carport.
4. Deliverables and/or Delivery Schedule:
4.1 Contractor will provide the materials and construction of a two-car carport. The contractor will use the existing driveway without damages. The contractor will be responsible for removing and disposing of the old carport.

5. Data Management Plan (DMP):
5.1 The Project Lead or technical cognizant has used discretion as to whether or not a DMP is relevant or not relevant and has determined it to be not relevant.
6. Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) / Government-Furnished Information
(GFI):
6.1 Government-furnished equipment (GPE) and Government- furnished information (GFI): N/A
6.2 Limitations: None known or anticipated
7. Evaluation and Acceptance:
7.1 The contractor will be evaluated as detailed herein. Government acceptance is contingent upon a final inspection, which will be performed to ensure proper installation and professional workmanship.
8. Quality Control/Quality Assurance:
8.1 QA/QC will be determined by final inspection to ensure the carport is fully, properly, and professionally installed in accordance with trade standards and applicable codes.
