About this file
This request for quotation (RFQ) specifies requirements for a native prairie seeding project on 25 acres of land within the Pine Creek Unit of the Driftless Area National Wildlife Refuge. The selected contractor will be required to mow and apply herbicide to remove existing non-native grasses, then seed the site in late fall with the attached seed mix. The seed mix must be tested for purity and germination according to AOSA standards. The contractor must provide certified seed of local genotype within 200 miles of the site at a rate of approximately 10 pounds per acre, with weed seed not exceeding 1% by weight. The selected seed mix and inoculant details are in Appendix A. The contractor's delivery date for the seed must be no later than October 15, 2023. Evaluation criteria are ability to supply the required seed, meet the delivery date, origin of seed, past performance, and price. Interested parties must submit details on an attached excel sheet. The contracting point of contact is provided.
