About this file
This file contains the technical specifications for an Automated Immuno Assay Platform, specifically a LEO System Auto Western Blotting instrument, in support of solicitation 1232SA26Q1092 issued by the Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service. The RFQ is a Total Small Business Set-Aside (size standard: 1,000 employees) for commercial items under FAR Part 12, with a NAICS code of 334516. Quotations are due electronically to lynn.hults@usda.gov by 4:00 pm Central Standard Time on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, with the final deadline for questions submitted by 3:00 pm Central Standard Time on Friday, August 14, 2026. Vendors must be registered in SAM.gov at submission and award, and payment will be processed through the Department of Treasury's Invoice Processing Platform (IPP.gov).
Responses must include detailed specifications demonstrating the capability to provide the required Automated Immuno Assay Platform for High-throughput Protein Detection; quotes that merely reference the specifications without comparative specification details will not be considered for further evaluation. The acquisition specifically requires the LEO System Auto Western Blotting instrument as outlined in the attached specifications document, with vendors expected to provide comprehensive technical documentation supporting their offering's capability to meet the stated requirements.

SPECIFICATION OF SUPPLIES
1.0 Specifications Description
USDA – ARS – RAFSRU conducts research on molecular analysis of plant and animal tissues and quantification of biomolecules such a proteins in cell lysates via immunoblotting. USDA – ARS – RAFSRU requires an automated immunoassay platform capable of high‑throughput protein detection and characterization. The instrument should be able to conduct immunoblotting for up to 96 samples at one time. All steps of sample loading, antigen immobilization, immunodetection and imaging should be automated. The system should be capable of normalization for total protein in the lane. This equipment is essential to increase rigor, reproducibility, and efficiency and simplify labor‑intensive steps involved in traditional Western blot assays. It is expected to minimize user‑dependent variability and improve overall data reliability. The instrument should meet or exceed the specification of the Leo Simple Western system (Biotechne).
High-throughput quantitative Western analysis, computer and software
Quantity: 1
Unit Type: Each
Minimum Requirements:
A. System Requirements:
1. An instrument that performs size-based separation and immune detection of proteins in a fully automated manner.
2. Instrument should be able to process around 90-100 samples per run in a fully automated manner. Should conduct electrophoresis within capillaries.
3. Should be able identify and quantify target proteins at a highly specific level. System should provide customizable primary antibody options based on user needs.
4. System should have 3-4 log dynamic range of detection.
5. Ability to employ chemiluminescence and fluorescence to detect target proteins with low background readings.
6. Inter instrument and intra-run CV should be less than 10% CV.
7. Should be able to detect multiple analytes and should require low sample input (< 5ul sample volume).
8. Should allow re-probing of second analyte after removal of the first primary antibody following detection steps.
9. Should perform an assay in less than 5 hours.
10. Should be able to resolve various size ranges and have established separation modules (12-230 kDa, 2-40 Kda, etc.).
11. Provide a workstation with seamless software assay design, instrument programming and quantitative analysis of results.
12. Dimensions should be accommodatable in existing lab space.
13. Provide comprehensive installation and training, customer support for troubleshooting run setup and data output issues and provide maintenance visits and coverage of repair parts.
