STATEMENT OF WORK
Roll-Off Dumpsters for Pappenfus Demolition Project
At
Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge Little Falls, MN
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to procure roll-off dumpsters that will be used to store demolition materials from the removal of a house, garage, and woodshed buildings located on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s (USFWS) Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) located in Little Falls, MN. The USFWS seeks to contract services that will provide roll-off dumpsters for the project.
2.0 Background
Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1992 to protect one of the largest, most intact wetland complexes remaining in central Minnesota. Currently, the refuge is made up of 14 different parcels of land, totaling 2,150 acres. Featuring a rich mosaic of healthy sedge meadow, shallow lake, oak savanna, prairie, shrubland and forest habitats, it provides critical habitat for many species.
3.0 Scope and Scope of Work
The Contractor shall perform the following:
1. Provide 30-yard roll-off boxes to the project location for an estimated 330 cubic yards of demolition material. It is estimated that up to 15 boxes will be needed.
2. During the active project work, 4 roll-off boxes will be provided onsite and the removal/hauling of the demolition material to the landfill will be ongoing and coordinated with the project manager.
3. All roll-off loads will be loaded by USFWS staff.
4. All roll-off loads will be tarped by supplier for transportation from the project site to the landfill.
5. Supplied roll-off boxes will be in working order and free from significant damage that limits the loading, containment, and hauling of demolition materials.
6. Permittees will travel only the designated routes to and from the sale site.
7. Roll-off box drop off sites will be determined by the project manager. Site conditions warrant very specific drop off locations, as such, no unauthorized drop off locations shall be allowed.
8. Permittee shall not possess firearms or alcoholic beverages on the NWR during work hours at the job site.
9. Equipment used to transport roll-offs shall be in good working condition. Any spill of oil, hydraulic fluid or other hazardous material must be cleaned up immediately. Equipment repair or replacement will be required for project work to continue.
10. Only persons who are employed by the contractor pertaining to the project are permitted on the NWR and project site.
11. There is significant tree coverage of the site. Care shall be taken to ensure that no trees are damaged through carelessness. If tree damage occurs through negligence, as determined by the Project Manager, damages may be assessed to the contractor at the rate of $100.00 per tree.
4.0 Place of Performance
-Project is located at 12951 210TH AVE, LITTLE FALLS MN 56345.
-Roll-off dumpster drop off and pickup will be at this location.
-Typical hours of operation will be from 8 am – 4 pm on days that project work occurs.
5.0 Period of Performance
Estimated period of performance 3-1-2025-9-1-2025. This is subject to change
6.0 Government Furnished Information
Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge staff will support the Contractor with gaining access to the facility(s) required for completion of the tasks listed above.
