About this file

This document is a tree work specification detailing identified landscape maintenance tasks to be performed at a property. All work must comply with ANSI A300 Standards for Tree Care.

The specification lists nine tasks involving eight trees and two debris pile removals. The trees requiring work include: (1) a Red Oak (Quercus Rubra, 22.4" DBH) in the NW corner requiring canopy thinning, structural pruning, and maintenance of 3-foot clearance from a historic structure; (2) a Cucumber Magnolia (Magnolia Acuminata, 16.4" DBH) on the E-NE circle drive requiring removal of limbs overhanging an archway and utility lines; (3) a Golden Raintree (Koelreuteria paniculata, 9.8" DBH) in the rock garden requiring deadwood removal and branch thinning around an adjacent Yew; (4) a Sweet Birch (Betula Lenta, 14.4" DBH) on the eastern side of the rock garden path requiring deadwood removal and codominant leader removal over the path; (5) a large Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus, 28.2" DBH) requiring deadwood removal and selective upper canopy pruning to reduce wind throw/sail effect; (6) a Sweet Birch (Betula lenta, 16.1" DBH) at the SW end of the rock garden path requiring codominant leader removal and deadwood removal; and (8) a Yellowwood (Cladrastis kentukea, ~23" DBH codom.) on the SW slope requiring complete tree removal, stump grinding to 18 inches below grade, and replanting with a 2-inch caliper tree of the same species with screened loam topsoil and bark chip mulch. Task (9) requires chipping and removal of existing wood and branch piles near the shed and across the south stone wall. All work includes debris chipping and removal.
