1.0 Introduction and Overview
National Elk Refuge HQ building (asset # is 10026593) located at 675 East Broadway, Jackson WY. The refuge is a unit of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Wildlife Refuge System. This statement of work requires the design and installation of a new and appropriately sized HVAC system for the headquarters building. There is currently no system in place, all heat is provided by electric baseboard units on both levels, so no ductwork exists in the building. The building consists of two floors – a basement level and a ground floor level with a total square footage of approximately 6,500 square feet.
Both levels shall be serviced by this system. The system should be energy efficient and include a system to clean and filter the air and kill air bourne virus and bacteria (to include Covid 19) such as the GPS Needle Point Bi-Polar Ionization System or an approved equivalent. The ground floor has nine individual offices with an open common area and a small conference room (see attached floor plans), the basement level is an open office design with six large spaces. Each enclosed office and conference room shall have at least one vent into that space.
