About this file

This is a specification document for design-bid-build construction services supporting the Natomas Reach I Contract 2 (RIC2) project, a continuation of previous levee improvement work along the American River in Sacramento, California. The project is anticipated to be solicited as an Invitation for Bids (IFB) resulting in a firm-fixed price contract, with an estimated project cost between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The work will be classified under NAICS code 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction) with a small business size standard of $45,500,000 in annual revenue, and will utilize Product and Service Code Y1LC.

The primary scope of work includes slope flattening along approximately 2.18 miles of the American River levee from Gateway Oaks Drive to Northgate Boulevard and along the NEMDC, with site excavation and reuse of approximately 15,000 cubic yards of levee embankment fill, borrow site excavation and import of approximately 12,000 cubic yards of fill, utility relocation, construction of a 12-foot maintenance road at the landside toe, and tree removal. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining the borrow site. Activities impacting the levee prism are restricted to the period between April 15 and November 1. The contracting activity is the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District (USACE SPK), and the solicitation is anticipated to be issued in the near future.
