About this file

This document is a Description of Requirement for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, detailing the procurement of acoustic telemetry equipment for fish tracking. The requirement includes 500 acoustic tags (200 V13-1x external case and 300 V16-4x rounded case) and 8 NexTrakR1 acoustic receivers. The tags operate at 69 kHz, transmit continuously, and have estimated battery lives of 633 and 2,333 days respectively. The receivers are durable, waterproof, compatible with both freshwater and saltwater environments, feature Bluetooth technology for data offloads, have 32 MB non-volatile flash memory, and are powered by 13-month lithium D cell batteries. The equipment will be shipped to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Clock Tower Building in Rock Island, Illinois, and is specifically designed to be fully compatible with existing VEMCO acoustic receiver arrays.
