STATEMENT OF NEED
Washers and Dryers
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Office of Training (TR) 2500 Investigation Parkway - Quantico, Virginia 22135
Overview Statement
DEA TR is planning to remodel the existing Laundry Room Area of the Main Academy Building in order to meet the current and future needs of DEA’s training mission. To proceed forward with the remodel project, TR will need to purchase twenty (20) washer/dryer stack units to maximize the available space in the existing laundry.
For DEA TR to support the equipment, operation, and sizing (power, water, and drain), the units will need to meet the requirements listed in the “Product Requirements” Section below. The proposed equipment will also need to be commercial in construction and carry a minimum one year warranty.
The existing infrastructure support resources have a very limited configuration therefore a detailed submission of the specifications and utility connections will be required by the vendor to determine if they fully meet the requirements.
A. Proposal Quote
The Vendor shall submit a proposal for this Statement of Need including all costs. An actual lead time shall be provided for all units to be delivered to the Academy and will need to be strictly adhered to for the project scheduling.
B. Product Requirements
1. The requested washer/dryer stack units must be commercial in design and construction
2. The units must have at minimum:
a. A width of no more than 23 ¾”.
b. Overall height no more than 81”.
c. 120v single phase power to the washer units.
d. 208v single phase power to the dryer units.
e. A gravity type drain valve for the washer discharge.
f. Factory designed and made stacking hardware.
g. A soft mount construction design for ease of maintenance.
h. A flexible factory made 90 deg. discharge hose.
i. ERGOCERT and HACCP Certified.
C. Personnel Security Requirements
DEA’s security requirements require the Contractor to, at least seven (7) days prior to starting work, submit a completed access form (attached) for all persons (employees, drivers, and sub-contractors) that they propose to have work on this project.
Failure to comply and/or failure to provide suitable candidates may result in person(s) being refused access to the buildings and will not be the Government’s responsibility for any costs or delays in the project.
The contractor shall also be responsible for compliance with the Marine Corp Base “DBIDS” access control Program which requires separate forms and requirements than the above DEA requirements (see attached).
