About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of geotechnical laboratory equipment by the Corps of Engineers Geotechnical Branch.

The Corps of Engineers requires two Sigma-1 Automated Loading Systems for consolidation testing of soil samples. Each system includes a Sigma-1 5K lbs load frame, three load cells with varying capacities (5000 lb, 2000 lb, and 500 lb), an incremental consolidation cell for 4" specimens, and a 3-inch deformation sensor. Additionally, the procurement includes triaxial strength testing equipment components for 3" diameter specimens: three 3-inch Q(UU) triaxial cells with accessories, three sets of 3-inch CU/perm endcaps, six 3-inch porous stones, six 3-inch O-rings, one 3-inch membrane expander, and two 3-inch x .025 latex membranes. Deliveries must be made to 4155 Clay Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183, with the Geotech branch responsible for system installation. The contractor must provide a 90-day international warranty on all items. Invoices should be submitted upon completion of work to CEFC-B4Invoices@usace.army.mil and anna.k.turner@usace.army.mil. The contractor must comply with Corps of Engineers sustainability requirements, including EPA-designated materials and USDA BioPreferred Program requirements where applicable.
