About this file

This purchase description outlines requirements for a magnetic particle horizontal wet bench magnetic particle inspection system to be utilized by the Aberdeen Test Center for testing weapon systems, components, and other non-weapon items. The purchase description specifies that the system must produce 6000 amperes of three phase FWDC, include a 25-inch diameter magnetizing coil and auxiliary output cables, allow for reversing demagnetization, and include custom designed steady rests for mortar tube inspection. Additionally, the system must have a hood assembly with exhaust fan and white lights, pneumatically raising and lowering hood, two LED ultraviolet lights, and 20 ampere convenience outlets. The single point electrical connection requires 240V, three phase, 60Hz power and an 80-100 psi airline connection. Related items including carrier fluid and magnetic particles will be delivered separately. The vendor will be responsible for minor adjustments, leveling, and calibration of the equipment once installed at the Aberdeen Test Center facility.
