About this file
This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition for a federal contract opportunity.
The U.S. Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) plans to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Bridge Preclinical Testing Services (PTS) to provide research and development services for the MEDUSA2 project, which is a follow-on study to the MEDUSA1 project. The objective of MEDUSA2 is to determine the impacts of sustained acceleration on the hemodynamics of a swine model of critical care medical evacuation. Bridge PTS is the only source that can provide the required services in a cost-effective and timely manner, as they have the necessary facilities, personnel, and expertise from their involvement in the prior MEDUSA1 project. The contract is expected to be awarded in August 2024 using FY 2023-2024 RDT&E funds, with a period of performance from August 2024 to September 2025. The estimated total value of the contract is not provided.
