About this file

This document is a Description of Requirement (DOR) for a 1064nm pulsed fiber laser to be used as a transmitter in a lidar sensor being developed by the Geospatial Research Laboratory (GRL) as part of the ELS3D project. The key specifications required for the laser are an output wavelength of 1064nm, pulse energy of at least 60uJ at 100KHz pulse repetition frequency (PRF), pulsewidth of approximately 20ns, and average power of at least 6W at 100KHz PRF. The laser must also have a broad operating temperature range of 0-50°C with low power consumption and thermal dissipation at the upper end of the temperature range. GRL will review quotes to ensure the offered product meets all the stated requirements, and award will be made to the vendor providing the lowest price, technically acceptable solution. The related federal contract opportunity is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source the required 1064nm pulsed fiber laser from Nuphoton Technologies, Inc., as their laser model YDFL-Nano-1064-3-60-6W-Col is the only commercially available product that meets all the technical and environmental requirements.

Description of Requirement (DOR):

" 1064nm Pulsed Fiber Laser with low power consumption at high operating temperature"

REQUIREMENT

The Geospatial Research laboratory needs of a 1064nm pulsed fiber laser with very low power consumption at large temperature gradient to use it as transmitter in lidar sensor which will be designed and built here at GRL as part of ELS3D project. The GRL must procure this laser so the team at GRL can use this laser in final lidar sensor as a transmitter. This laser’s performance needs to meet certain specifications provided in the table below. The research team at GRL conducted a performance link budget to come up with these specifications and requirements for the laser.

System Requirements (Table 1): Table 1, entitled "System Requirements," provides the key specifications we seek to satisfy.

Selection Process: Technical experts at GRL will review each quote offered to GRL in response to this solicitation. To be considered, your quote must show that your product will meet and deliver all the specifications in Table 1. The vendor is requested to provide clear quotes showing that their products meet all the listed requirements to ensure the technical experts see that an offered product will meet all the required standards. Quotes that are ambiguous or are missing required information may be disqualified. Selection will be based on the lowest price, which is technically acceptable.
