About this file
This document provides installation details for fire rings and a related federal contract opportunity notice. The installation details indicate that fire rings should be secured to the ground using two screw-in earth anchors inserted between tabs on the back of the fire ring. A steel rod should be passed through the tabs and eyes of the anchors and bent at 90 degree angles on both ends to prevent removal. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers seeking weekly custodial services including removal of burnt contents, debris, and trash within and adjacent to all fire rings and grills at the Rathbun Lake Project in Iowa. The solicitation also includes an option to remove and install fire rings. The purpose is to support recreation and address public health, sanitation, and fire mitigation at the public areas.
