SUMMARY OF WORK

PART 1 GENERAL

This summary of work is a generalized description of work and is not all inclusive. Technical specification requirements will apply to all task orders to be issued under this contract.

1.1 SUMMARY OF WORK

The work involves clearing and grubbing (vegetation removal), concrete debris removal, and repairs of levees on the Jackson Project Levees located near Jackson, Wyoming. Levee repairs consist of hauling and placing riprap (also known as armor), hauling and placing fill material, and re-keying of existing riprap supplied by one (1) of five (5) Government furnished stockpile sites.

The repair sites are divided into two regions, local and alternate. Review Plans and specs for further details and repair sites. Alternate regions are all project levees and locations not included in the local regions.

The Evans levee has approximately 3,500 tons of concrete slab debris intertwined with other riprap and fill. The contractor is to remove ALL concrete slab debris during the construction process and properly dispose the concrete debris according to all Federal, State and Local laws.

All vegetation on the water side of the levee is to be cleared. All vegetation on the land side of the levee is to be cleared 15 feet from the where the crest point of the levee begins.

The objective of this work is to return levees to the design profile and to perform emergency and post-spring runoff repairs of damaged levees.

The Snake River and the Gros Ventre River in the vicinity of the work sites are considered Class 1 and 2 waters under Wyoming water quality laws which are administered by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Water Quality Division(WQD).
