Questions for NOFO Opportunity Number: SFOP0007230 August 12, 2020

1. The solicitation mentions, "the geographic focus of this project should be Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, or can be global." Would a proposal focused on West African organized crime fit the scope of this notice of funding opportunity?

The NOFO states, “Eligible organizations may include: (U.S. based non-profit/non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or educational institutions having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS or overseas-based non-profit/non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or private/state educational institutions. See complete eligibility criteria below.” If your institution does not fit the criteria, then you will ineligible to apply.

2. General: The NOFO clearly identifies Eastern Europe, Central Europe, and Western Balkans as three regions of interest. Can you explain how you are defining these regions (e.g. what countries are you including/excluding from these regions)?

INL encourages applicants to prepare concrete proposals based on their expertise and background on this issue. While INL will consider proposals with global geographic scope, at this time INL considers Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe to be priority regions for this project.
