Wi-Fi Question & Answers Sheet
Q1. Is this effort strictly to source hardware and install it? Can you confirm that this a furnish & install only effort?
A1: This is just an install and the NEC will take care of the Programming and network side of it. The equipment list came from CPT McMillan so all questions on that should be guided his way. Once the fiber is installed and you guys receive the equipment, our staff will handle the programming and ensure it is all connected.
Q2. Why Cisco WAP were defined for the AP when you also have an ubiquiti fiber switch also listed in there? Cisco are the switch module and the ubiquiti fiber switch is already in place. For compatibility reasons that’s why Cisco WAP is requested.
A2: Every other switch module are Cisco. The Ubiquiti is already in place. Cisco is being requested to maintain compatibility
Q3. Wanted to know if the site visit still be happen in lieu of Hurricane Sally hitting the Gulf coast especially Mississippi? Was a Q&A sheet for technical question and were there any building layout plan?
A3: Any site visits can be still scheduled, I have only had two that came by recently. Mr. Self-came by at an earlier time in the process.
Q4. I see that today is the last day to quote solicitation: 992021-Commercial Wi-Fi Access (UNCLASSIFIED) On BETA SAM. Was there a site visit done, a Q&A sheet for technical questions and were there any building layout plans?
A4: Yes, we had site visits done by all three vendors, Jeff Self at an earlier time and the other two vendors on the same day at different times. No Q&A sheet was completed????(Do not even know what that would look like). We walked around with the vendors and CW3 Spiers lead the discussion and made recommendations.
The vendors all received the footprint of the FASACYA and the buildings that would need the network. The vendors themselves drew what they would need to do and took that with them. Nothing was turned into us.
