This requirement is for support from the Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO) to replace the mainline primary (feeder lines). This support is required once the BARC Electrical Substation Replacement project is complete and the change out of these lines are required. PEPCO reviewed USDA plans and drawings on this project and prepared this work request for $96,085.00.
The proposed vendor is PEPCO as they are the utility company that supports power needs for the BARC location in Beltsville, MD. The work request number 3553789 was submitted to PEPCO for BARC for acceptance with the cost being $96,085.00. There is not another power company that supplies power to this area so USDA has no option but to use PEPCO. Also PEPCO had reviewed the plans and drawings for this BARC Electrical Substation Replacement and had engineered the installation of the primary feeders and made adjustments to USDA drawings to ensure they met PEPCO's requirements to be installed.
