QUESTION 1

After studying and reviewing the technical specifications addressed in ITB DOT- ITB-24-9084-CA, our engineers have a question regarding the Technical Specification Section “3. Goniometer”.

The bid requires a maximum angular resolution of 0.021° FWHM on LaB6. We note that this specification is made without a matching requirement for peak intensity and/or measurement speed. We believe that only one system on the market (not ours) meets this resolution specification, so we request the specification be changed to 0.03° FWHM on LaB6.

We suggest that the specification could be changed to require minimum performance in both peak FWHM and intensity, because a practical diffractometer must balance good resolution and speed. A specification that should be achievable by multiple instruments on the market would be “when measuring the (111) peak of LaB6, must be able to provide 0.045° FWHM resolution and 15,000 counts per second peak height”. This would ensure that the quoted systems deliver the total performance needed to analyze complex mixtures.

Would you please consider the above comments and provide us the response?

ANSWER 1

We have a correction. It should be a range for the resolution as we did for the speed.

Maximum Angular Resolution: 0.021°- 0.03° (FWHM on LaB₆).

Maximum Angular Speed: 12-15 deg/s.
