About this file
This is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract (PUR 7778) issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The agency intends to enter into a single source contract with Leica Geosystems for the purchase of a DSW Photogrammetric Film Scanner and the Z/I PhotoScanner. These highly specialized analog film scanners are critical for digitizing the aerial film collection and must meet strict performance and accuracy standards. Leica Geosystems is the only vendor that can provide maintenance and upgrades without voiding the warranty on these systems.
The total price for the scanner purchase is $59,770.00. The justification for the single source acquisition is that any work performed by a party other than Leica Geosystems would immediately void the warranty coverage on the hardware. Therefore, Leica Geosystems is the only vendor that can provide the scanners without compromising the warranty.
