About this file

This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) for the procurement of angle valves for the PIP-II Cryomodules project. The RFQ seeks firm fixed pricing for two items: 30 DN40 CF right angle valves (Part #FC0063045) and 25 DN16 CF right angle valves (Part #FC0048055).

The solicitation (BLN-365482) closes on February 3, 2025 at 4PM. Technical specifications require both valve types to be made of stainless steel AISI 316L with metal silver-plated seals, bellows feedthrough, and CF-R standard flanges. The DN40 valves must have a conductance of 50 ls-1 and weigh ≤5 lbs, while DN16 valves require 5 ls-1 conductance and weigh 0.9 lbs. Both types must meet specific leak rate requirements (<1×10-10 mbar ls-1), pressure ranges, and temperature specifications. The work falls under NAICS code 332911 with a size standard of 750 employees. Vendors must submit completed SARC Subcontractor Annual Reps and Certs and PUR-466 Proposal Certifications forms. Questions are due by January 29, 2025 and should be directed to Brian Nielsen. All items must be cleaned to ISO 4 cleanroom standards and delivered in double-bagged packaging.

2. 99.9% pure Isopropyl alcohol rinse.

3. Use a solution of UPW and detergents* in the ultrasonic cleaner for at least 30 minutes.

4. Use ultrapure water (UPW) in the ultrasonic cleaner for at least 30 minutes.

5. Rinse thoroughly with running UPW after the ultrasonic cleaning.

6. Dry blow using particle free N2.

7. Assemble and double bag in ISO 4 cleanroom.

The Vendor shall communicate the extent to which they are able to perform the proposed procedure. Any deviation from this procedure shall be communicated in advance and accepted by our representatives.

*Liquinox liquid detergent is suggested. Other liquid detergent, which are proven to be compatible, can alternatively be used. The Manufacturer should communicate to us to which extent they are able to perform this procedure. Any eventual deviation from it shall be approved by us in advance.

3.6 Packaging

All the components shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulation pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. Each component shall be individually wrapped in low density polyethylene bags.

Wooden or plastic containers that prevent impact damage and bending shall be used. Sharp fasteners that penetrate the container, such as nails or screws, shall be avoided, and in any event, provisions shall be made that inadvertent penetration of points cannot come into contact with the components. Banding shall be applied in such a way that the bands must be removed if the container is opened. A marking shall be applied to the bands that identifies the manufacturer or manufacturer’s shipping agent, to indicate if the bands may have been replaced (e.g., as a result of customs inspection).

Shipping configuration shall be communicated and accepted by Fermilab representatives in advance of the shipment.
