About this file
This document contains notes from an Oak Wilt Stewardship IRSC site visit. The site visit attendees discussed questions related to converting timber cruise reports from cubic feet to thousand board feet. The cruise reports generated by the National Cruise System for the solicitation specify volumes using international 1/4-inch rule, while most purchasers prefer Doyle rule, which can produce different results. Per Forest Service Handbook direction, all timber cruising shall use the National Cruise System to determine final volumes.
The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 12363N23Q4257 for Oak Wilt Stewardship IRSC work in the Shawnee National Forest Mississippi Bluffs Ranger District in Jonesboro, Illinois. The solicitation seeks to award a contract for stewardship and restoration services to reduce oak wilt disease impacts.
