About this file
This is a data reporting requirements document for the Austin Independent School District Food Service's Good Food Purchasing Program, which supports the district's Request for Proposals for fresh produce and à la carte beverages supply. The document outlines the specific data fields and information that awarded vendors must provide in workable Excel format when requested as part of the district's annual analysis and due diligence reporting obligations. The reporting requirements are designed to track food sourcing aligned with the program's core values of local economies, environmental sustainability, valued workforce, animal welfare, and nutrition. Vendors must submit comprehensive information for each product line item, including vendor name, farm name and location, processor or manufacturer details and location, brand name, product codes, product descriptions, pack sizes, quantities purchased, unit measurements, weights, and cost data.
The Good Food Purchasing Program data reporting framework enables Austin ISD to conduct annual assessments that provide a comprehensive overview of current food sourcing practices and inform the establishment of future purchasing goals. By collecting detailed information about the origin, processing, and sourcing of products through this standardized reporting structure, the district aims to verify compliance with responsible production practices and support producers that meet the program's standards. The reporting requirement applies to all proposing vendors who enter into contract with the district for produce and beverage supply, making data transparency and traceability essential components of vendor obligations throughout the contract term.

Good Food Purchasing Program Data Repor ng Requirements
Austin Independent School District is excited to share that we are continuing to participate in the Good Food Purchasing Program, which we hope will help us gain a be er understanding of where the food we purchase comes from and allow us to increase our purchases of food that support responsible production practices in line with the Program’s values: local economies, environmental sustainability, valued workforce, animal welfare, and nutrition.
Through the Good Food Purchasing Program, we conduct an annual analysis to understand which of our current purchases are aligned with these values.
