About this file

This document is an Addendum to a state-level contract opportunity for the demolition of abandoned buildings at 87-028 Farrington Hwy, Waianae, Oahu, Hawaii. The project, managed by the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources Engineering Division, involves the demolition, removal, and abatement of two abandoned houses containing hazardous materials such as lead-based paint and asbestos floor tiles. The additive scope, which has been removed by this Addendum, included the demolition and removal of a converted carport workshop, storage shed, and two damaged boats. A voluntary pre-bid conference was held on May 3, 2024, and the last day to submit requests for information was May 14, 2024. Bids are due by May 20, 2024, and must be submitted through the HIePRO system.

The Addendum provides responses to various questions raised during the pre-bid conference, including the presence of asbestos, the need for PCB analysis, and the extent of the demolition work. It also clarifies that the demolition does not include underground structures, concrete slabs, footings, plumbing, septic tanks, or electrical work. The contract opportunity is limited to the state of Hawaii, with the primary jurisdiction being Honolulu County and the Waiohinu Census Designated Place.
