About this file
This is a technical specifications document for the Proctors Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Coagulant Facility Improvements and Sidestream Treatment project located in Virginia. The project comprises two primary components: Project A involves demolition of an unused Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) building and construction of a new brick and mortar coagulant facility building to house coagulant metering pumps, lime slurry metering pumps, and associated electrical equipment, with bulk storage tanks placed in an outdoor concrete containment area. Three new coagulant injection points will be installed at Plant A aeration tank effluent, Plant B aeration tank effluent, and combined filter influent, along with comprehensive site work including yard piping, valving, and duct banks. Project B entails construction of a new Sidestream Treatment Facility that includes demolition of the existing Gravity Belt Filter Building, construction of a new Centrate Equalization basin with associated pumps and equipment, conversion of the existing Centrate Equalization Basin into a de-ammonification Reactor with vertical mixer and blower canopy, and construction of a pre-engineered concrete Electrical Support Building for electrical drives and equipment housing.
The specifications document establishes detailed technical requirements for all structural, mechanical, electrical, and process equipment installations, including new lime storage tanks, mixers, and metering pumps to serve both the new Sidestream Treatment Process and existing IFAS treatment process. Site restoration requirements include pavement or concrete repairs and restoration of grassed areas to pre-construction conditions. The document provides comprehensive material specifications, equipment performance standards, and installation requirements necessary for bidders to prepare accurate proposals and execute the work scope as designed for this wastewater treatment infrastructure improvement project.
