4. Description of Action: The purpose of this purchase is to replace worn and stressed carpet in high traffic/high visibility areas spread out over two floors within the JITC Headquarters areas. JITC is a premier testing facility for the Department of Defense (DOD), which entails multiple high level visiting officials. It is imperative that the facility maintains a ‘Visitor Ready’ appearance at all times. Cost would be astronomical, maybe costing or more, if the carpets in the building were to be completely replaced. No other brand provides the specific pattern, color, or style. In the initial carpet purchase, JITC utilized common carpet squares utilized in multiple government building. Since this purchase is not a 100% replacement of all the carpet, in order to maintain continuity visually and operationally throughout these highly visibly high traffic areas, JITC request the matching Interface Brand, carpet squares in the Route 66 50cm x 50cm Sayre 2488). This ensures flow and symmetry throughout the spaces by matching the same type and color of carpet squares allowing JITC to be visibly ready for Senior level visitors from DISA or any external agency.
In order to visually match the current carpet to maintain appropriate appearances at JITC headquarters, JITC requires the carpet to seamlessly match what is currently in the building. The headquarters building consist of approximately 46,324 sqft of carpet, all composed of carpet squares. The planned carpet will replace approximately 11,000 sqft of carpet squares throughout two floors and in highly visible and highly trafficked areas.
We would like to have approximately on reserve/bench stock 1000 sqft to cover any spillage on the carpet(s) enabling us the continuity to quickly replace carpets in the building. At this time, it is not advantageous to replace all the carpet in the building due
