About this file
This is a bid solicitation document from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration for median and roadside tractor mowing, trimming, and litter pick-up services at various locations in Carroll County. The contract involves routine maintenance of roadside areas including mowing of medians and roadsides, trimming of vegetation, and removal of litter along state highways. The solicitation is designated as a Small Business Reserve (SBR) contract, limiting eligibility to small businesses. The work is to be performed at multiple locations throughout Carroll County, with services required on an as-needed basis throughout the contract term. Bidders are required to submit sealed bids by the specified due date, with award anticipated following the bid opening and evaluation process.
The contract is structured to allow for competitive bidding among small business contractors, with pricing to be submitted on a per-unit or project basis as detailed in the bid specifications. The SBR set-aside designation ensures that only certified small businesses may submit proposals. Funding for this contract is provided through the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration's operating budget. The contract term and any renewal options are subject to the terms outlined in the solicitation documents. Contractors should be prepared to provide evidence of insurance, equipment, and crew capacity to perform the specified mowing and maintenance activities across multiple county locations.
