About this file
Summary
This is a bid specification document from the Virginia Department of Transportation for On-Call Scour Repair services in the Richmond District. The project involves emergency repair services for scour damage at various locations throughout the Richmond District on an as-needed, on-call basis. Prequalification is required for all bidders prior to submitting proposals. The contract is structured to provide immediate response capabilities for scour repair work, which typically addresses erosion and undermining of roadway structures caused by water action. Specific response times, project locations, and service area details are defined within the specification document to ensure rapid deployment when scour conditions are identified.
The contract operates on an on-call basis with pricing submitted through a rate schedule or unit price format for various scour repair methodologies and materials. Contractors must maintain prequalification status throughout the contract period to remain eligible for work assignments. The Virginia Department of Transportation will issue task orders for individual repair projects as scour damage is identified, with work performed under the terms and conditions established in the master on-call agreement. Contract duration and renewal options are structured to provide continuity of emergency repair services while allowing the department to evaluate contractor performance and adjust resources as needed.
