About this file
This is a specification document issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for a Smart Scale roundabout construction project located on Route 611 in Pulaski County, Virginia. The project scope encompasses construction of a roundabout extending from 0.17 miles west of the intersection with Cougar Trail Road to 0.07 miles east of the intersection with Cougar Trail Road. The project requires contractor prequalification prior to bid submission. The document contains detailed specifications, plan requirements, and technical standards that bidders must meet to qualify for consideration. Specific response dates, bid due dates, site visit information, and bidders' conferences are referenced within the specification document, though exact dates are subject to VDOT's established procurement timeline for this Smart Scale project.
The specification document outlines pricing, technical requirements, and compliance standards for bidders seeking to compete for this transportation infrastructure improvement project. Prequalification requirements are mandatory, indicating VDOT's intent to ensure only qualified contractors capable of executing roundabout construction projects are permitted to submit bids. Funding for this project derives from Virginia's Smart Scale program, which prioritizes transportation investments based on statewide criteria. The document establishes the technical and contractual framework governing bid submission, project execution, and contractor performance standards throughout the construction phase.
