About this file

This document is a Questions and Responses template related to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for Remote Proofing Solutions. The RFI seeks information from vendors on commercially available remote proofing solutions that could be integrated into NASA's identity onboarding processes to provide an Identity Assurance Level (IAL) 3 enrollment option for remote workers. NASA does not currently have in-person proofing facilities near many of its remote workers, requiring them to travel to a NASA facility. This RFI aims to identify cost-effective remote solutions to expand NASA's IAL 3 identity proofing footprint across the U.S. The RFI requests information on deployment models, key performance/availability requirements, training and support, and any specialized IT resources needed. NASA may consider a set-aside for small, 8(a), women-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, economically disadvantaged women-owned, or HUBZone businesses based on the responses received. Responses are due by November 15, 2024.

#QuestionNASA Response
Is this a follow-on requirement or a contract re-compete? If re-compete, what is the current contract number and who is the incumbent? There is no existing contract or incumbent.
Can you provide any background on the budget or funding available for this remote proofing initiative? This information can not be provided.
Will there be opportunities for vendors to present or demonstrate their solutions directly to the evaluation team?Refer to RFI attachment, "80TECH25RFI0002 - Remote Proofing Solutions" page 2, paragraph 2.
What specific document formats, file types, and collaboration features need to be supported? No specific document formats, file types, or collaboration features have been decided at this time. If specific file types or formats are supported by solutions that should be considered, identify that information in the response.
What types of user devices and platforms (desktop, mobile, etc.) should be supported? No user device or platform has been decided at this point. If a proposed solution requires a specific device, platform, or some combination of both, identify that information in the response.
Are there any integrations required with existing NASA systems or workflows? This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to identify remote proofing solutions that are commercially available and could be integrated into the NASA identity onboarding processes to provide an information Assurance Level (IAL) 3 enrollment option for remote workers using a RESTful integration into NASA's authoritative identity source.
What are the key performance and availability requirements (e.g. response times, uptime, support)?Key performance and availability requirements have not been determined at this point. Please include metrics for percent of successful IAL 3 proofing (e.g., first attempt) and include support options that are available (e.g., service, user) (e.g., 24/7, business hours). If multiple uptime options are available for a solution, please indicate what is commonly available for other customers (government if available).
Does NASA have preferences on deployment models (cloud, on-premises, hybrid)?NASA desires to subscribe to a service that could service workers throughout the US and will review any infrastructure solutions required to support the IAL 3 solution.
What are the key criteria that will be used to evaluate and select the winning vendor(s)?This posting is a Request for Information (RFI). An award will not be made based on the responses.
Will there be a phased evaluation process, such as an initial down-selection?See NASA Response to #9, above.
How will NASA measure the success and ROI of the chosen remote proofing solution(s)?NASA will likely prefer solutions that include pay per use options with cost effective solutions to support remote workers throughout the US (especially where NASA does not have a presence). Additionally, if Authentication Assurance Level (AAL) 3 options are available to be used with the IAL 3 remote proofing solution it may be preferred.
What kind of training, documentation, and ongoing support will be provided to NASA users?Training and ongoing support will need to be provided. Please include types of materials or support options that may exist for IAL 3 remote proofing solutions (e.g., phone support, help guides).
Are there any specialized IT resources or configurations needed to implement the solutions?See NASA Response to #6, above.
What software are you using from badging access control, what software are you currently using, and can it be migrated out of legacy to a technical refreshed system?NASA’s current software is out of scope for this RFI.
