About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity related to the laser inspection of Invar 36 pipes. The objective is to use proprietary laser profilometry technology and integrated software analysis to map the wall thickness and detect any flaws or corrosion in two sizes of Invar 36 pipes - 4-inch and 10-inch schedule 5S pipes. The contractor is required to provide all resources, material, and labor to test, operate the inspection equipment, and deliver a fully acquired data set and documentation on the suitability of the pipes for use as a B31.3 pressure piping system. The work will be performed at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the contractor's facility in Cocoa, Florida. The period of performance is from June 17, 2024 to July 15, 2024.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Special Notice for "Laser Inspection of Vacuum Insulated Pipes" issued by NASA/Kennedy Space Center. The solicitation number is 80NSSC871649Q.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
Vendor shall furnish all labor, equipment, insurance, materials (except government-furnished property), and services to provide on-site inspection of two (2) different sizes of Invar 36 pipe are to be inspected. Pipe nominal sizes are 4-inch and 10-inch schedule 5S pipe. The 10-inch pipe nominal dimensions are 10.75 inch outside diameter (OD) by
0.134 inch wall. This makes the 10-inch pipe internal diameter (ID) 10.482 inches. The 4-inch pipe nominal dimensions are 4.5 inch OD by 0.083 inch wall. This makes the 4-inch pipe ID 4.334 inches. The outer pipe diameters are all 2 inches larger than the internal pipes.
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
The objective is to use proprietary Laser Profilometry technology and integrated software analysis to acquire all data possible to fulfill an American Petroleum Institute (API) 579 level 3 Fitness for Service (FFS) analysis. Mapping of wall thickness, and any possible flaws and corrosion mechanisms to the extent of the resolution of the tools is the objective of this testing and data acquisition task.
The Contractor is to provide all resources, material, labor, to test, operate inspection equipment and delivery of a fully acquired data set of Invar inner wall map of piping flaws and documentation and/or data files associated with the determination of suitability of use as a B31.3 pressure piping system.
The scanning of subject piping consists of approximately 500 ft of 10-inch invar VJ piping of which approximately 400 ft is located at Kennedy Space Center and 100 ft is located at contractor plant in Cocoa, FL. Also, scanning of approximately 80 ft of 4-inch invar VJ piping located at contractor plant in Cocoa, FL.
3. Places of Performance Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 and 3975 E. Railroad Ave., Cocoa, FL 32926
4. Period of Performance Scanning and report development will be from June17, 2024 to July 15, 2024.
