About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) to procure nTop computational design software licenses for developing heat exchangers and space nuclear reactor system components. GRC requires an implicit-modeling-based computational design platform to support rapid design iteration and complex, high-performance geometries for fission surface power systems, nuclear thermal propulsion, and advanced aeronautical technology programs, including the planned Space Reactor-1 Freedom. The software must provide core geometry and implicit modeling, heat exchanger design, optimization and simulation, design automation and integration, and additive/advanced manufacturing preparation capabilities.
The procurement includes one floating network license with three additional licenses (Lines 1-2), with a past contract credit referenced in Exhibit A (Line 3), and a Customer Success package providing team support (Line 4). Deliverables include license keys or account activation for full-platform access, access to tutorials, manuals, self-paced courses, learning materials, and video-based training classes for all authorized users. The Software Lifecycle and Asset Management (SLAM) NASA Entitlement Reporting Form must be submitted within five business days of order. Performance is at Glenn Research Center with a period of performance from 11/15/2026 through 11/14/2027 and a need-by date of 11/14/2026. The procurement requires designs compatible with advanced and additive manufacturing processes and lightweight, thermally and structurally optimized components to address launch mass constraints.

STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) requires advanced computational design software to develop heat exchangers and space nuclear reactor system components. NASA's space nuclear power and propulsion work as well as advanced aeronautical technology development programs demand rapid design iteration and complex, high-performance geometries. This includes fission surface power systems for lunar and planetary missions, nuclear thermal propulsion, and NASA's plan to advance fission power systems across propulsion, surface, and long-duration missions, including the planned Space Reactor-1 Freedom. Conventional CAD tools cannot efficiently produce or iterate on these geometries.
These applications require:
• Compact, high-effectiveness heat exchangers, recuperators, and radiators
• Lightweight, thermally and structurally optimized components for launch mass constraints
• Designs compatible with advanced and additive manufacturing (AM) processes
To build these capabilities in-house and use engineering resources efficiently across multiple projects, GRC requires an implicit-modeling-based computational design platform.
