About this file

This is a Technical Clarification document for federal contract opportunity 80NSSC27947142Q that provides detailed specifications and answers to vendor questions regarding required fittings, seals, and delivery requirements.

The solicitation requires Army-Navy (AN) standard fittings, Medium Pressure (MP) fittings, and High Pressure (HP) fittings for both tubing and piping applications. For AN fittings, the document specifies standard part numbers including UNION (AN815), CROSS (AN827), TEE (AN824), Boss Tee Bull (AN825), Boss Tee Run (AN826), Boss 90 (AN822), Reducing Union (AN919), Sleeve (AN819), and B-nut (AN818). TRTX is defined as a 37-degree flare tube end reducer. For medium-pressure fittings, vendors should reference Autoclave components or equivalents, including UNION (20UFX), CROSS (CXX), TEE (CTX), Male/Female Adapters, Gland Nut (CGLX), and Collar (CCLX), with a required pressure rating of 20,000 psi and operating temperature range of -423°F to 1200°F. The document specifies that the most current ASME B31.3 edition applies. Virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) O-rings are mandatory in specified sizes (1", ¾", ½", ¼") with documented dimensions; copper crush washers must be SECO SEALS SEC07 or equivalent. Delivery requirements allow partial deliveries for items with extended lead times beyond the standard twelve-week delivery requirement, with vendors expected to provide lead times as part of their quotation. Reference examples for sourcing include Allen Aircraft for AN fittings and Autoclave for MP and HP fittings.

Technical clarification for 80NSSC27947142Q

1. On pages 3 and 4, please define TRTX and provide the required port arrangement, end connections and governing part or drawing references for the Boss TEE Bull, Boss TEE Run and Boss 90 fittings.

For AN fittings use the following standard part numbers:

UNION =

AN815

CROSS =

AN827

Tee = AN824 Boss Tee Bull =

AN825

Boss Tee Run =

AN826

Boss 90 =

AN822

Reducing Union = AN919

TRTX = 37 deg flare tube end reducer

Sleeve =

AN819

B-nut = AN818

2. For the medium-pressure and high-pressure fittings and adapters, please specify the required pressure and temperature ratings, tube-size basis, connection series and cone/thread geometry. Which American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.3 edition applies? Most current

For medium pressure fittings, we are looking for these Autoclave components or equivalent

UNION = 20UFX CROSS = CXX TEE = CTX MxF Adapters = Male/ Female

F MP Female med pressure X boss fitting x boss

HP x MP= High Pressure x Medium Pressure

Gland Nut =

CGLX

Collar = CCLX Required MP pressure 20,000 psi

Medium Pressure operating temp -423F to 1200F

3. For the virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) O-rings and copper crush washers on pages 4 and 5, please provide the required dimensions or applicable part/standard references for each listed size.

Copper crush washers should be SECO SEALS SEC07 or equivalent o-ring sizes

1” 1.171 1.00 .116

¾” 0.924' - 0.116"

½” 0.644 0.087

¼” 0.351 0.072

4. Section 3.2 requires delivery within twelve weeks after award and allows partial deliveries for extended lead times. Must every item arrive within twelve weeks, or may an accepted partial-delivery schedule extend final delivery?

Lead times should be provided as part of quote. We would like everything possible to be delivered within 12 weeks but understand and will accept a partial delivery of items with longer lead times after the 12 weeks.

1. What do the designations AN, MP, and HP represent within the fittings list? The SOW references AN (Army-Navy), MP (Medium Pressure), and HP (High Pressure) fittings, but the supplier is requesting additional detail regarding the intended specifications.

The AN spec was included in the SOW. For MP and HP see Autoclave for an example of the fittings

2. What pressure ratings are required for the MP and HP fittings? We were unable to locate specific pressure-rating requirements in the solicitation documents.

See Autoclave for pressure ratings (varies per fitting and size)

3. Are these fittings intended for tubing applications, piping applications, or both?

both

4. Are there any manufacturer-specific part numbers, CPV part numbers, existing component references, drawings, or cross-reference information available that would assist vendors in identifying and quoting the required items?

An Fittings, see Allen Aircraft, etc.

MP and HP fittings, see Autoclave, etc.

5. The SOW specifies virgin PTFE O-rings. If a manufacturer does not oƯer PTFE O-rings but can provide all other requested fittings and hardware, would alternate O-ring materials be considered acceptable, or is PTFE mandatory?

PTFE is mandatory

6. We would appreciate clarification regarding the Medium Pressure (MP) and High Pressure (HP) fittings listed in the Statement of Work. While the SOW specifies compliance with ASME B31.3 Chapter IX, it does not identify the required pressure ratings. Could you please confirm the required operating pressure or minimum pressure rating in PSI for the MP and HP fittings?

Repeat question, see 4.1
