About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for furnace heating element and shields to be supplied to NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) for high temperature mechanical testing equipment.
NASA GRC requires a complete kit for an Oxy-Gon F00201 physical test furnace hot zone consisting of two primary components. The heating element must be a tungsten mesh heating element measuring 3.5 inches inner diameter by 8.0 inches tall, matching part number D05-0735, and must be compatible with the Oxy-Gon Chamber F00201. The heat shields must comprise a complete set of six layers for the sides, tops, and bottoms—two layers of tungsten and four layers of molybdenum—including a side shield (P/N C08-1143) and one each top and bottom shield, also compatible with the Oxy-Gon Chamber F00201. The assembled hot zone will operate at temperatures up to 2000°C with the existing power supply. The required delivery timeline is 4-6 weeks from Award/Project Order (APO). The point of contact is the High Temperature and Smart Alloys Branch at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio 44135.
