About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the procurement of a cryocooler system for the NewAthena X-ray Integral Field Unit (X-IFU) detector testing program at NASA/GSFC.
The Government requires a complete cryocooler system comprising one each of the following components: PT410-RM Cryocooler (OEM), PT410-RM Coldhead (OEM), CPA289CW compressor unit (220/230V, 3-phase, 60 Hz), stainless steel lines (1" diameter, 66 feet in length with 1/2" and 3/4" Aeroquip connectors), motor cord (66 feet), installation tool kit, CPA289C Compressor, and user manual. The system must deliver a cooling capacity of 0.9 W at 4.2 K with 36 W at 45 K, achieve cooldown to 4.2 K within 60 minutes, and reach a lowest temperature of ≤2.8 K with no load. The helium compressor package requires water cooling with power consumption at steady state of 8.9 kW at 60 Hz. The system must operate within an ambient temperature range of 45°F to 100°F (7°C to 38°C), produce a maximum sound level of 70 dBA at 1 meter, and conform to specified dimensional and bolt-hole interface details. All equipment must be delivered within 6 months after receipt of order to Building 34, Room C203, Code 662, NASA/GSFC, Greenbelt, MD 20771. The Period of Performance is 3 months, with the vendor responsible for acquiring and providing equipment from their own location. No Government-Furnished Equipment or Information is provided, and no acceptance testing is required.
