About this file
This document is a NASA Shared Services Center Recommendation and Determination to Solicit from One Source form for the RockOn and RockSat student launch opportunities and workshop. NASA recommends sole-source negotiation with LWP Technologies, LLC to provide technical support for these student launch programs, citing the company's 8-year history of supporting the RockOn workshop through hardware updates, software revisions, and technical assistance. The total estimated contract period is 12 months, with the recommendation justified by the unique technical expertise of the vendor that cannot be replicated by other companies.
The document emphasizes that no other company has the necessary experience to support the undergraduate student flight opportunities and collaborate with Wallops Flight Facility personnel. The NASA Science Mission Directorate Heliophysics Division concurs that these are unique student launch opportunities that should continue to be managed at Wallops Flight Facility. Failure to secure these services in a timely manner would result in the program not being offered or conducted, underscoring the critical nature of the sole-source procurement.
