About this file

This Statement of Work from NASA Langley Research Center specifies requirements for a ruggedized, radiation-mitigated System-on-Module (SoM) and breakout board for multi-channel giga-sample data acquisition and real-time signal processing in low-earth orbit environments.

The SoM must be no larger than 150mm x 150mm, feature ruggedized connectors for space environments, include radiation mitigation capabilities, and have minimum 8 ADC channels capable of 1+ giga-sample per second processing. Key technical requirements include FPGA fabric for handling real-time ADC data, processing subsystems with real-time cores, native Gigabit Ethernet support, and minimum 4GB onboard memory. The device must be delivered with complete board support package, documentation, and have less than 1-year lead time. The accompanying breakout board must be plug-and-play compatible with the SoM, feature SMA connectors for ADC signals, meet signal integrity requirements for 1+ GigaSample/second operation, and be available immediately with the SoM. All products must come directly from the designer/manufacturer or authorized distributors/resellers with proper certification.

STATEMENT OF WORK

1. Objec ve/Requirements

NASA Langley Research Center has a requirement for a ruggedized, radia on-mi gated System-on-Module (SoM) and breakout board for use in mul -channel giga-sample data acquisi on and real me signal processing (with opera on feasible in low-earth orbit). Any delivered product must be provided directly by the designer/manufacturer, or by authorized distributor or reseller. Vendor must provided le er from designer/manufacturer cer fying firm as an authorized distributor or reseller.

2. Characteris cs, Scope, and Specs

System-on-Module specifica ons:

- Ruggedized connectors for opera on in space environments

- No larger than 150mm x 150mm

- Radia on mi ga on for opera on in space environments (ac ve monitoring of power rails for latch-up and mi ga on for other possible single event effects)

- Minimum of 8 analog-to-digital (ADC) channels capable beyond 1 giga-sample per second

- Programmable logic (FPGA) fabric with bandwidth/throughput capable for live handling and fast Fourier transforms on 8-channel real- me ADC data

- Processing subsystem with real me cores and applica on cores for signal processing coordina on and data transforma ons

- Gigabit Ethernet na vely supported

- Minimum of 4GB on-board memory with bandwidth to match data/processing rates (see above)

- Delivered with working board support package (BSP) and reference designs for out-of-the-box lab opera on (firmware, so ware, low-level drivers, user’s guides, applica on notes)

- Delivered with documenta on for verifica on and test of board over acceptable opera ng condi ons (and signal integrity analysis for high speed memories and analog connec ons)

- Available with less than 1 year lead me

Breakout board specifica ons:

- Directly compa ble (plug and play) with the SoM listed above

- Brings out all analog RX (ADC) signals to connectors ready for direct connec on in lab/evalua on environment (SMA connectors, or similar)

- Meets signal integrity on high speed channels for opera on beyond 1 GigaSample per second for ADCs

- Brings generic I/O to connectors for customiza on and lab use/tes ng

- Provided with and available immediately along with SoM (no addi onal lead me)
