About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) outlining NASA Marshall Space Flight Center's requirements for high cycle fatigue mechanical testing of NASA-developed alloys at room and elevated temperatures. The testing requires an independent laboratory with Nadcap and A2LA (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) accreditation for low and high cycle fatigue testing, as well as ISO 9001 and Aerospace Quality System (AC7004) certifications.
The contractor must test 207 samples according to detailed test matrices, which include testing at temperatures from 70°F to 2000°F, with various stress levels, frequencies (0.5-40 Hz), and R values (-1). The samples are approximately 0.55" diameter and 4" length, requiring either machining/polishing or as-built surface testing according to ASTM E606/E466 standards. Testing must be completed within 16 weeks of receiving samples, with all work performed on-site by the contractor. Deliverables include a final test report with summary data, digital data in csv or excel format, and raw data hysteresis curves as requested.
