About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a federal solicitation for Bobcat G25N-7LP GCT 2.4L Engine 5,000 lb Capacity, I.C. Pneumatic Tire Forklifts (Solicitation Number: 80NSSC24883288Q). The agency issuing the solicitation is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center.

Key details include:

  • Solicitation is for the purchase, not rental, of the forklifts
  • The originally specified Bobcat G25N-7 model is not currently available due to emission regulations, so the agency is requiring the originally proposed model rather than accepting a substitution
  • The solicitation requires a specific forklift model and attachments, including a drum tipper, drum grabber, and pallet forks with certain dimensions
  • The attachments are to be used periodically, not remain on the forklift full-time
  • Doosan models are acceptable if they meet the same specifications as the Bobcat G25N-7

Quesons Received:

Q: Will the request be for rent or purchase?

A: Purchase.

Q: I hope this message finds you well. I am writing in reference to the forklift requirement outlined in solicitation W912LC-24-Q-0094. We had planned to propose the Bobcat G25N-7 model, which includes the GCT engine. However, due to recent emission approval regulations, this model is currently unavailable.

In its place, we would like to propose the Bobcat G25E-7, which features a similar HMC LPG engine. This alternative model meets the same specifications in terms of capacity, performance, and attachments.

Could you kindly confirm if this model substitution would be acceptable given the emission constraints of the originally specified G25N-7?

A: I want to sck with the original proposal for the Bobcat G25N-7. I looked up the new regulaons, and I feel that we should strive to get the best forkli for our folks that are working inside a building with a forkli. Please keep the bid to the Bobcat G25N-7.

Q: We are interested in the solicitaon menoned above. Could you please confirm how many hydraulic lines are required for the drum pper and drum grabber?

A: There are no hydraulic lines (zero). They are manual.

Q: We can offer the G25E-7 with LPS which is a Hyundai Engine. Please advise if that works.

A: This opon is not what we want. The bobcat with the lps is the safety approved because of the hazard classificaon and non spark

Q: & A:

1. Are separate attachments required for the drum tipper and drum grabber, or would you prefer a single attachment that performs both functions? We already have the attachments. We would not need to purchase them.

2. Could you confirm the class of carriage required for the forklift? Hook type – 43” – high visibility

– Class II

3. What are the specific dimensions of the forks you want / need? Hook type – pallet -1.6” x 4” x 41”

4. Will the attachment remain on the forklift full-time (24/7), or is it expected to be removed periodically? The attachments are periodically used.

5. Would a Doosan model be acceptable with the same model? Yes
