About this file

This document contains Questions and Answers related to a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the procurement of Hot Tube Bundle Tubes for the PSL Stahl Heater. The key details are:

The customer is looking to purchase seamless tubes, not welded wall tubes, per the requirements in the Statement of Work (SOW). They need to know if the vendor is quoting just the tube material or if they need to provide the complete bent/formed tubes as shown on the drawing. The customer also clarifies that they are not requesting a quote for the heat shield, as that will be covered by the contractor performing the field repair. The solicitation is being issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center, with a solicitation number of 80NSSC24881737Q.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

1) Are you looking to purchase just the tubes and you will bend them yourself, or using another contractor? Or are you looking to purchase the compound bends in the quanes and dimensions shown on the drawing?

2) The drawing indicates that the tubes are welded wall. E.g. Tube (1) on the dwg calls out .875 OD x .095 avg wall – Incoloy 800HT wld. Welded wall tubes would correspond to ASME SB-626. However your SOW calls for ASME SB-163 compliance, which is the specificaon for seamless tubes. You intend for the new tubes to be seamless, and not welded wall, correct?

3) Are you just looking for the Material ONLY?

---- OR ----

Are you looking for each one of these Pipes/Tubes to be Bent/Formed...Complete as shown?

4) Regarding the Heat Sheild”.... We would need more info on this if we’re to provide.

We are looking for material only with this PR.

We are not asking for a quote on the heat shield. This will be covered by the contractor that completes the repair in the field.

In reference to the material specificaon, we would like to use ASME SB-163 as the standard as per the SOW. The drawing was only intended to be a reference for the vendor.
