About this file

This document contains questions and responses related to a hydraulic press brake procurement. The responses provide specifications for the required press brake, including that it must have a capacity to handle at least 4 feet of 3/8-inch stainless steel plate. A vendor recommended risers and die sets for a Model USHB200-10CNC press brake. The responses also clarify that the application involves 4 feet of 3/8-inch stainless steel plate, and that 200/230 ton press brakes would not be suitable for pieces longer than 7 feet with a 3-inch V-shape and minimum 2.25-inch flange.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center for the procurement of a hydraulic press brake. No other details are provided about the opportunity.

The US Industrial press brake comes with a tee slot already in the table so a die holder Is not really necessary unless you need one with set screws . Or is there a specific spacing on centers you need for a custom die holder.

Response: No specific spacing and no custom die holder is needed.

We requested in the SOW the BA-1 riser along U3 x 120" & L8 x 120" and U6 x 120" & L14 x 120" as recommended by a vendor for Model: USHB200-10CNC.

Second, can you please be more specific about your application of 3/8” of .304 stainless? we would need To know this in order to quote the correct tooling. Please note, the manufacturer does not recommend Bending more than 5’ of 3/8” stainless on this brake due to exceeding the load tonnage.

We can size the die accordingly but we really need to know your application.

Response: SOW states application as 4ft x 3/8” Stainless Steel plate. The Brake must have a capacity to handle at least 4ft x 3/8” Stainless Steel plate.

Can you tell me what this is ?

" - BA-1 riser 3" net height x 120" long (compatible with both punch & die sets) " Response: A vendor for Model: USHB200-10CNC recommended this BA-1 riser along U3 x 120" & L8 x 120" and U6 x 120" & L14 x 120".

Also, how long is the 3/8" stainless part. 200/230 tons won't do 10' unless the VEE is opened

up. Standard length for this tonnage would be 7' over a 3" VEE with a minimum flange of 2.25".

Response: SOW states application as 4ft x 3/8” Stainless Steel plate. The Brake must have a capacity to handle at least 4ft x 3/8” Stainless Steel plate.
