We require an intensified camera system that satisfies the following basic requirements:

1. The camera system shall comprise the following items integrated into a single device:

a. Lens Mount

b. Input Window

c. Intensifier Module

d. Optical coupler between the intensifier module and the camera sensor module

e. Camera sensor module

f. Internal delay generator and triggering circuitry

g. Any additional supporting electronics with the exception of an external power supply and/or external frame grabber (if required)

2. The complete camera system (excluding any cables, external power supply or external frame grabber card, if required) shall not exceed dimensions of 400 X 125 X 180 mm (L X W X H)

3. The camera system should be compatible with 120 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase power

4. The camera system shall be capable of operating or being stored in typical laboratory conditions:

a. Temperature range: 10 C to 40 C

b. Humidity range: < 70% (non-condensing)

5. The provided lens mount shall be either C-mount or F-mount

6. The input window shall provide transmission greater than 90% across the 300nm – 800 nm wavelength range

7. The intensifier module (consisting of a photocathode, micro-channel plate amplifier, and phosphor) shall have the following:

a. A photocathode with spectral response comparable to either the 18x-03 or 18x-63 photocathodes shown in the plots below (taken from Andor iStar CCD datasheet) across the 300nm – 800 nm wavelength range.

At a minimum, the quantum efficiency at the following wavelengths shall be equal or greater than the values given below:

i. 300 nm – 8%

ii. 400 nm – 12%

iii. 500 nm – 10%

iv. 600 nm – 4%

v. 700 nm – 0%

b. P43 phosphor or equivalent with decay time to 10% of less than 2 ms

c. Single photon detection capability

d. Greater than 18 mm diameter active area

e. Adjustable gate width with a minimum gate width no longer than 3 ns and a maximum no shorter than 1 s that is controlled via software or external timing signal input.

f. Adjustable gain from zero up to the maximum capability of the intensifier controlled via software or external analog input

g. Dark current noise of less than 0.6 photoelectrons/s/pixel

8. The Optical coupler between the intensifier module and the CCD module shall:

a. maximize the imaged area of the intensifier output with minimal added distortion in the image

9. The camera module shall:

a. Utilize either a CCD or sCMOS sensor

b. Have a resolution greater than 1024 X 1024

c. Have a near unity length to width ratio

d. Have the majority of the intensifier phosphor screen imaged into it

e. Have at least 14-bit digitization

10. An internal delay generator shall be provided for the gate signal of the intensifier that has:

a. An external trigger input utilizing a TTL signal with standard input connector

b. Variable delay setting from 0 ns to 10 s in no longer than 10 ns steps controllable via software or an external input

11. All hardware and software to operate the camera from a connected PC shall be included. This includes at a minimum:

a. The camera system shall connect to the controlling PC via either USB 2.0/3.0 or a PCI/PCIe frame grabber card installed in the operating PC

b. A compatible PCI/PCIe frame grabber card shall be provided with the camera system if required for operation

c. All cables required to connect the camera to the operating PC

d. Any required power supplies and associated cabling

e. Software to operate the camera including:

i. A standalone application for camera system control and image collection

ii. Software development Kit (SDK) for custom user-developed applications (if available)

iii. All provided software shall be compatible with the Windows 10 operating system

12. All relevant documentation for the camera system shall be provided including any user manuals for the camera system as well as for any software required to operate the camera system.
