Statement of Work for Manufacture of Water Test Inducer and Impeller

Description: Manufacture of Inducer and Impeller Requested Delivery: 16 weeks from award

The task may require but not necessarily include rough and finish turning, multi‐axis milling, brazing, deburring, cleaning, inspection, passivation, and dynamic balancing. This statement of work is for the manufacture, inspection, assembly, and dynamic balancing of two components:

an axial pump or inducer and a shrouded centrifugal impeller. Additional details for each are summarized below.

MER02953‐001, Inducer Water Flow The water test inducer is a 15‐5 PH stainless steel four‐bladed axial pump 5 inches in diameter and 3.4 inches in length. The axial pump interior bore is a 28 tooth, Class 5 ANSI B92.1‐1996 internal involute spline. The blade bilateral profile tolerance is 0.010 inch, the blade root fillet radius is approximately 0.08 inch, and the required surface finish is 63 micro‐inches. Two‐plane dynamic balancing to ISO 1940/1‐1986(E) grade 2.5 at 8000 revolutions per minute is required.

MER02954‐001, Impeller, Water Flow The water test impeller is a 316 CRES centrifugal pump with six main blades, six mid‐span splitter blades, and twelve short splitter blades. The tip diameter is 7.9 inches and the impeller is 3.3 inches long. The impeller interior bore is a 28 tooth, Class 5 ANSI B92.1‐1996 internal involute spline. The blade bilateral profile tolerance is 0.010 inch, the blade root fillet radius varies from 0.087 to 0.030 inch, and the required surface finish is 63 micro‐inches. The separate 316 CRES shroud is furnace brazed to the impeller blade tips according to AWS C3.6, Class B.

The impeller and shroud assembly is two‐plane dynamic balanced to ISO 1940/1‐1986(E) grade

2.5 at 8000 revolutions per minute.
