TASK ORDER REVISION: R1
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 02/01/2020 – 01/31/2021
TASK OVERVIEW
This task provides the required engineering support to the JSC Loads and Dynamics Branch (ES6) of the Structures Engineering Division (SED) in the areas for integrated dynamic analysis & testing capabilities necessary for docking systems, launch vehicles, and spacecraft. This includes development of an updated electro-mechanical Six degree-of-freedom Dynamic Test System (eSDTS) facility component/system models, and for the development of ascent loads and ascent abort loads capabilities. The primary objectives of this task are
(1) to maintain the current SDTS facility capabilities & develop the new eSDTS facility component and system models, support development and integration of docking system developer user provided docking system models, and to support integrated SDTS/docking system testing, model correlation, and analysis; (2) perform Independent Verification and Validation (IVV) or in-line tasks of Space Launch System (SLS) Launch vehicle, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Module (MPCV) and Gateway Integrated Vehicle linear/non-linear modeling, couple loads analysis, vibro-acoustics/shock analysis, and testing; and (3) provide Day of Launch (DOL) Vehicle Load Indicator (VLI) software tool development, maintenance, simulation, input tool data creation, IVV, and testing. Tasks associated to each specific component are listed below which must comply with all applicable project requirements and JSC Quality approved facility classification upgrade requirements.
TASK 1 – MODELING, SIMULATION, ANALYSIS & TESTING SUPPORT
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
(1) Perform updates to the current SDTS facility hardware component models and simulation (SimFacility) to support integrated analysis of IDSS compatible mechanisms for multiple test configurations.

(3) Perform updates to the 2-Body Simulation Host (SimHost) software to support 6-DOF testing of IDSS compatible mechanisms for multiple test configurations within the current SDTS facility.
(4) Develop and maintain the new 2-Body Simulation Host software to support testing of docking / berthing mechanisms for the new eSDTS facility.
(5) Provide support for the development and release of products per the task descriptions and schedule defined in Internal Task Agreement (ITA), Docking Systems & SDTS Dynamics, Analysis, and Testing.
(6) Provide support for Docking System Mechanism model integration into SDTS & eSDTS Facility simulation.
(7) Provide modeling and simulation development support for NASA integrated dynamic analysis.
(8) Provide modeling and simulation support to develop Trick-based Docking System Model and Simulation delivery releases.
(9) Provide technical expertise in the area of docking system dynamics modeling and simulation.
(10) Provide technical expertise in the area of actuator control systems, with focus on active docking system soft capture systems, the current SDTS facility hydraulic actuator system, the new eSDTS facility electro-mechanical actuator system, and SDTS/eSDTS future enhancements to the facility actuator system.
(11) Provide technical expertise in the area of 6DoF motion platform contact and dynamic performance testing.
