Questions and Answers on RFP 80GSFC21R0071, RST Delta V Thrusters

Questions 1: Is the supplier expected to procure the Thermostats, or will the Thermostats be furnished by GSFC or another source as furnished equipment on the contract?

GSFC Response: The supplier is expected to procure the thermostats.

Question 2: What is the quantity (each) of Test Plugs and Alignment Tools being asked for?

GSFC Response: We are asking for 2 alignment tools and 2 nozzle plugs per thruster type (See SOW Paragraph 4.3).

Question 3: Will GSFC consider waiver of GMIPs? Implementation of these on the heritage supplier products can affect cost and schedule.

GSFC Response: GMIPs will not be waived. (GMIPs are defined in SOW Paragraph 6.4.3. and will be defined at the kick-off meeting.)

Question 4: Will GSFC consider wavier of Thermal Vacuum Bake-Out and Thermal Cycling requirements?

Implementation of these on the heritage supplier’s products can affect cost and schedule.

GSFC Response: Thermal Vacuum Bake-Out and Thermal Cycle Testing will not be waived.

Question 5: If the supplier’s level of compliance to the SOW and SPEC does not warrant the need for a qualification unit, is a separate qualification unit still requested by GSFC?

GSFC Response: No. We will not request a qual unit if there is no need to perform qualification testing.
