This document contains details for a forthcoming NASA Request for Proposal for the Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition IV multiple award contract. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center plans to issue the RFP in June 2019 to acquire spacecraft and related services from multiple awardees. The Rapid IV contracts will have a ten-year ordering period and a maximum value of $6 billion to support scientific and technology missions. Offerors must demonstrate experience as the prime contractor on a minimum of two successful spacecraft developments involving design, fabrication, integration and testing, launch support, and on-orbit operations. The RFP will require spacecraft designs with a minimum payload capability of 7 kilograms mass and 20 watts power. Evaluation will involve technical acceptability on a pass/fail basis and past performance assessed as pass/fail, with failure in either rendering an offeror ineligible for award.
