• Current EM-1 Launch Readiness Date 12/15/19 to 6/30/20 https://www.nasa.gov/centers/ames/engineering/projects/biosentinel.html

Tech Demonstration Small Sats Objective: Perform rapid turn around space technology demonstration for instrument or small sat-relevant technology as a payload using commercial Small Sat busses

• SBIR or university partnership development efforts can result in technologies of sufficient maturity to demonstrate in flight

• Lower cost, rapid turn around demonstrations are key

• Scope of effort includes:

o Mission design o Trade studies to identify a spacecraft bus and mission parameters that close o Minimizing cost with higher risk posture o Lean project implementation o Mission operations https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/spacetech/small_spacecraft/index.html

WetLab-2 System: Gene Expression for ISS https://upward.iss-casis.org/wetlab-2/ https://www.nasa.gov/ames/research/space-biosciences/wetlab-2

NASA Arcjet Facility The facilities simulate the aerothermodynamic heating that a spacecraft endures throughout atmospheric entry, and to test candidate TPS materials and systems.

The Complex includes four bays:

• The Aerodynamic Heating Facility (AHF)

• The Turbulent Flow Duct (TFD)

• The Panel Test Facility (PTF and Truncated

PTF)

• The Interaction Heating Facility (IHF)
