About this file

This document is a limited sources justification for a sole source follow-on contract with Johnson Controls Incorporated for maintenance of the Johnson Controls METASYS Building Automation System at multiple Department of Veterans Affairs facilities in Orlando, Florida. The one year base period and four one-year option orders will provide continued software and maintenance services for the proprietary METASYS system, including troubleshooting, repairs, and scheduled maintenance valued at $1,468,045. As the manufacturer of the METASYS system, only Johnson Controls is authorized to work on system components due to proprietary data and upgrades, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission requirements. A sources sought notice received two responses but further inquiry revealed only Johnson Controls could fully support the system. The justification and approval were certified by officials of the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 08 and Veterans Health Administration.
