About this file

This is a Justification and Approval (J&A) document for a sole source award to Agilent Technologies for service and maintenance of Agilent instrumentation at NCATS for the ACC, TDB, and ADST groups. The equipment includes Rapid-Fire systems that automate solid-phase extraction and sample delivery from microplates to mass spectrometers, replacing traditional liquid chromatography separation steps.

The contract was awarded to Agilent Technologies Inc. for $387,492.36 through December 31, 2024, under GSA Schedule GS07F0564X. Agilent Technologies is justified as the sole source provider since they are the original equipment manufacturer and exclusive provider of factory-trained service engineers and genuine repair parts. The contract was awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Drug Abuse. The acquisition was synopsized on the government-wide point of entry, and prices were determined fair and reasonable based on commercial marketplace comparisons.
